Interstate Group City Double

In what was a first for the Redgum Racing stable Danger Looms and Hollow Bullet landed the stables first city double all be it in two different states over the weekend. After a solid fourth in the Coolmore Classic over 1500m at Rosehill Hollow Bullet returned to 2000m in the Group 1 Arrowfield Stakes on Saturday 19 March at Rosehill. Drawing barrier 1 Glen Boss would have Hollow Bullet one off the lead on the running rail trailing race favourite Lotteria throughout the majority of the race. Entering the straight Boss would shift out slightly looking for better ground as Hollow Bullet moved passed Lotteria and in to the lead. The closing stages of the race would see Hollow Bullet and Lotteria battle it out to the line with Hollow Bullet prevailing with an exciting one length victory taking her career prize money over $1,300,000. Hollow Bullet now goes into AJC Oaks on 30 March at Royal Randwick.

Danger Looms would go into the Sires produce on the back of an excellent effort in to the Pol Roger stakes. Stepping up to the 1400m and dropping 2.5kg in weight Danger Looms would drew barrier 13 of 13 in his first Group 2 appearance. With early speed in the race Brad Rawiller would drop the colt to the back of field and settled last for the majority of the race. Moving into the straight Rawiller would ride for luck as he guided the exciting two year to victory by a length over race favourite Under the Floor. Danger Looms will now head to Sydney were he will race in the Champagne Stakes on 2 April.
